compression on the br-1180
heydoes anyone know if theres anyway to compress seperate tracks after recording on the BR-1180, I got this vocal track thats all over the place...
let me know thanks |

Hey, I have a BR-532, and if yours has anything similar, you should be able to use the loop effects. I think you just plug the out to the in, and only play the one track you wish to compress. If yours is not similar, sorry.

What you need to do is go to the FX page on your BR1180 and go to the bit that says insert near the bottom. Change it from in normal to the track that your vocal is on that you want to compress.
Now mute all tracks apart from the vocal track and get the right compression settings you want and bounce the track to 9/10. Now all you do is copy the new vocal track on 9/10 back to the track that the original vocal is on which will replace the uncompressed vocal for the new compressed vocal. Watch though as track 9/10 might be strereo and you only really want a mono track so might be best bouncing to a new layer on say track 1 and 2 and then copy only one of the vocal tracks to the layer and track that you want the vocal to be on. Hope you understand. Kinda annoying and time consuming but thats the only way. |
