Recording From Reason into Cubase

i've already done some work in reason 2.5 and i assumed after connecting through rewire, Cubase would record the midi sequencer data automatically into Cubase, but it doesn't record (yet i can play the reason instruments fine through cubase). any solutions on how to record from midi sequencer to sequencer. thanks. (ps, if you're wondering why i want to do this, its because i need to synch up with video which you can't do in reason.)
