DMP-3 into Firewire Solo?

Hello,
I'm still new and have been building piece by piece recently getting a DMP-3 pre for mic'ng vocals and acoustic guitar. I use it with my amp as well but want to get it into my i-mac G5. Currently, I have an Edirol A/D interface which I run my Behringer mixing board through. I'm thinking of getting a M-Audio Firewire Solo to run my DMP-3 straight through, leaving out the the mixer, and I'm wondering if this presents problems with putting a pre-amp on top of another one? This is all pretty new to me so I'm hoping this makes sense...
Any help is appreciated...thanks...

Michael

It won't hurt anything, if that's what you were wondering. The best way is just to turn the gain all the way down on the firewire pre and use the gain on the DMP3. If you got an interface that had a 1/4" TRS (balanced) input in addition to the XLR input, that would be preferable, in my opinion.
