Vegas + Wave 496 stuttering

I've had problems since I got my Wave 496 with pops and stuttering (just a single stutter, and not just on playback, it's really there in 0's and 1's). I did all the stuff they tell you to do in troubleshooting. I've got tons of memory and disk space. I'm using Vegas version 1.0a.

I contacted Dylan at Gadget labs and he said he has been able to recreate the problem and is going to discuss it with S.F.

Anyone else having this problem? Suggestions? Cures? It might help the powers that be figure this out...
