mixer pre-amp "quality" - Yamaha MG16/4 vs. Behringer Eurorack UB2222FX Pro

i know quality is a hard word to describe, but its more or less the raw sound and ability to make it good ..lack of hiss, headroom, etc.

those are the two mixers i've narrored myself down to get, so any comments/etc would be appreciated. or if you know of anything better for no more then $300 us, please also let me know what you think.

thanks

It's a safe bet that the Yammie outperforms the Behringer, but neither would win awards!

all very good advice. If you're in a bind for now, the Yamma Hamma is your better bet...later on, it might serve you well as a monitoring station. Avoid the Behringer unit. Not that I'm a gear slut but, I've used them (not too proud to admit) and wish I'd never spent the money. They make some decent stuff but mixers aren't on the list.
