This CDR has a Monitor mode, in which the incoming signal is sent to the outputs. So, I have a question. I have the POD Pro from Line 6, and it has the coax digital connections. And I'm getting the Fostex VF-16 wich has the optical digital connections. The CD-RW700 has both coax and optical. Can I run the POD Pro into the CD-RW700's coax in, and run the CD-RW700's optical out into the VF-16, to record digital direct? Using the CD-RW700 as just a signal converter?

Thumbs up

Yes! Just make sure you set the 700 to "Coax In".It works because even though you can only use 1 of the digital INPUTS at a time, whatever is going through the 700 is available on BOTH digital outputs simultaneously.BTW,once you have some trax recorded on the Fostex, you can hook up the optical in on the Tascam and switch between the two types of digital in w/o unplugging your POD!Cheers!
