So where is a good place to go online to post a "Drummer needed" sorta ad for free. I found www.bandmix.com, which is nice and all- has tons of musicians on it, but you need to be a premium member to get the contact info of the people? Why even have a freaking webiste like that if you can't contact the people! Bah! Any other suggestions? Oh, and yes, we're looking for a drummer if anyone in SE MI is interested.

you might try craigslist: http://detroit.craigslist.org/

Also, in my area we have several free newspapers that have free classifieds for musicians seeking musicians - myabe you have something similar?

cool thanks. Yeah, we have Metrotimes - I've already placed an ad there. I just want to leave no stone unturned in our search for the perfect drummer.
