Guide on ProTools and Generic Mixing/Mastering

Hey I'm looking for a thorough online guide on mixing and mastering within ProTools (using ProTools plug-ins) and/or just an overall guide on the process of mixing and mastering..I'm having a lot of trouble with this and need to start reading up on what each knob does, how to EQ, limit, compress, etc....so a link to a generic guide would be tight...thanks--

Does pro tools not come with a manual?

The Project Studio Handbook has lots of articles covering most aspects of recording:

http://www.theprojectstudiohandbook.com/directory.htm

This site is pretty useful to, the search function is your friend.

hope this helps

You can download your manual from the net in a pdf fil, and PT comes with a getting started booklet.

The Digidesign manuals aren't that great though, so I would certainly check out 'Pro Tools For Dummies'. Even if you aren't a beginner, the book is easy to use as a reference guide.

The Ignite book seems to be an easy version for most people to start with. The typical process would be just like upgrading into different cars. You'd start with PT LE before you graduate to TDM, although LE is pretty most 90% of TDM.
