Free sample sounds?

Hello everyone, i recently decided to make hip hop beats and found out that buying sample sounds was very expensive. Does any one know where i can get any free sample sounds of the internet or even where i can get a free trial from any of the websites? I would be greatful for any help.

dozens and dozens of links to free samples. it's an old post, though, so some of the links don't work. but I probably got 1/3 of my drum samples from this thread.
