gumplunger is on a distinguished road
Unless it's a crappy bass mic, in which case just stick with the DI.

Consider ATM25 for kick esp. if you have an unported kick, i find the D112 is 80s rocktasticTM

The overheads will get them just fine, maybe get one for the floor tom - you can pick them up for about 70-80 bucks on ebay, my friend puts one on his 18" floor tom and its earth shaking.

Edit: The ATM25 can be great on bass cab too, sounds lovely on my buddys ashdown.

Mic suggestion

I've tracked with the ATM25 and AKG D112 and they both did a good job, but now we're tracking with an ATM AE2500 and it sounds AMAZING! We've also used it to mic a bass cab (SWR 15" Son of Bertha) and it handled the job nicely, with very little EQ.

The e609 works well for guitar cabs very close up, but when we put a second mic up it really came to life. That second mic was a SP-C1 about 3 or 4 feet away. Blending the two sounds was better than both alone.

Another good thing about the e609 - no other vox mic was working on an R&B vocalist we were tracking, so I tried everything I had and the e609 worked best. You never know until you try.

For blues rock the 57 should be OK on snare, but I much prefer a Beyer M201.

For vox I'd get a RØDE NTK.

i have a 600 dollar spending limit for drum mics and guitar mics so i figured the ones that i had picked out were the most talked about in a positive way.so a Beyer M201 is pretty much out of my price range
