I don't know anything about the Apex 415, but I own a pair of SP B1's an a SP B3. The B1 is a pretty honest mic, so if you like what your voice sounds like and don't need a "scooped" sound or "hyped top end", the B1 should work well for you. I use mine for stereo mic'ing (on acoustic guitar when I want the guitar to sound "bigger" than my SM-81's will give me... same thing as conventional drum overheads when I don't want to use my SM-81's or an M-S configuration with a B1 and a B3). The B1 works well with electric guitar too. The B1 is built well too, and costs around $105, including shockmount. Hope this helps.
