Dual Screen Set-up! Sweeeeet!

OMFG This is awesome! I just set up my dual monitor display for my computer!
I've got an ATI Radean 9800Pro with two monitor outputs and a Vid out. I'm using two CRT monitosr for now until I can afford to LCDs. This is so cool! I still need to work out some of the bugs, but I've got it functional. Yeah for me!

I've got two LCD's (one external, one laptop) at work set up and it's SWEET. Unfortunately I don't have room at home for two CRT monitors, but one of these days I'll be able to afford a 24" LCD.

i got three 1 19 inch and 2 17 inch monitors..i can buy a switch to flip from 2 monitors to one but i think I'm just going to sell the 19 inch one. the original plan was to use the 19 inch for a seperate comp all together for gaming...financially that did pan out

With the sofware/hardware I have I can "clone" the primary monitor, set-up alternate desktops, or "extend" my primary desktop <== I've done the latter......
when I need more viewable space I just move the window(s) over to the other monitor. I love it!

I have to use one of those, my outputs are DVI out, VIDEO out, and *regular* analog monitor out. I have two analog CRT monitors.

Yeah, It's a true split screen! With a dual video output card, you can expand your display, so you would have more desktop space to do more stuff on the same computer. Some video card has DVI & Analog output (like ATI 9800 Pro), so you have to use a converter (Analog to DVI, a small adapter) for the LCD. It's very easy to setup and it's very helpful for recording musicians. You can drag & drop windows anywhere.

I totally know what you mean, once you leave the single monitor realm there's no going back!!!

I see this one in my very distant future.
Dare to dream.

I just got my dual monitors hooked up too. I went with PowerColor 9250 by ATI Radeon with 128 bit 256mb ddr ram which supports 1 vga and 1 dvi (so i had to get a dvi to vga adapter - like $5 at newegg.com). Needless to say (since mentioning VGA) I got two CRT Monitors. I got two 19" Samsung 990DF (all black) CRT Flat Screen Monitors that cost about $400 shipped to my house! (Gotta love http://www.newegg.com)

They look really nice and opperate really nice with the video card I got. NEVER will go back to one monitor. Now its building the desk to hold them along with speaker monitors etc.

Oh when will the havoc stop? heh.

I'm saving up for dual LCDs probably 17in. I think 19in. is too big for normal computing. LCDs are coming down in price, around 250.00 a piece for 'decent' ones; and shipping is less (they weigh less).
