Wink

Hello,

I have a Tascam TD-1000 with a tascam da-38 recording unit which does a killer job. The only problem is that when I record the band I'm working with, if you play the final mixdown at low levels, it's not as clear as when the volume is turned up? What should I do? This may sound stupid, but am I supposed to be feeding the mixer into a power amp and then commit it to tape. Any help would be appreciated

thanks
dan

Question

How close to the top of the scale are the output meters flashing when you play the mix?If they are too low,you aren't getting the bestout of the mixer's D/A converters, you are losing resolution. You may need to raise the levels on each track individually to accomplish this...Cheers!
