for using in a chain from my shure SM58 into ARttube pre then into it to compress the vocal?
i tried it but dunno how to deal with the 4 knobs
level,tone,attack,sustain
please educate me please

It's a guitar pedal. Unless your voice is like last years strat it will make things worse not better. It isn't designed for a full frequency spectrum. You can get a pretty cheap unit in the ART line much like the MP. Can't remember what it's called. I think it's an optical compressor. Don't use the pedal for this application.
