what if i was to buy a molie home?

if i was to buy a small mobile home would that be a better then trying to build a building?
then all i have to do would be to put down the sound stuff on the wall's and floor. do you think this is wroth buying or should i just build me a building?
i would love to have somthing that i could move my self by a truck just in case if i was to move again.

I suppose, but that might get pricey. First it would be very hard of impossible to soundproof it, and second, you would have to run all of your electricity to it somehow.

my bothers own there own saw-mil and i can get any kind of wood i wont
and my bother said a building this big would run around $5000.00
for every thing so maybe some way i'll get the money and do that.
any of my bothers can do the electricity for me so thats rally good for me

It's a learning experience and it will cost you some cash, but the benefits are very nice. I can play amplified music with my trio at 10 pm WITH a trap drummer and the neighbors don't hear it.

Hello bling. Well, in a way, this is kind of ludicrous. First off, you don't even have a plan. Second, you haven't even told us if you own the property where this "building" is going to be erected. Third, you give no idea of the location, which can drastically alter the material and construction technique choices. Fourth, building codes differ in some respects throughout the country or the world for that matter. You could be in Siberia or Mexico City!! As far as a list of materials, we don't even know whats available to you other than your brothers sawmill.

Even then, he doesn't manufacture Tyvec, concrete, rebar, roofing materials, exterior shiething, insulation etc. etc. Even a small building uses an abundance of different materials, ALL of which must be available to you if we were to spec them for you. For instance, we have no idea of the soil conditions which determines your footing design as well as roof loads which also has a bearing. You could build post and beam construction, but then point loads on footings would have to be calculated. Standard residenctial construction in the US STILL has a variety of material choices and this is only the exterior shell. But just for the sake of ILLUSTRATION ONLY, here is a small list.

Exterior SHELL. 12 x 20
Foundation Footing..8"wx18"d concrete w/ integral 4"slab w/ embedded wire screen over visqueen layer over 6" gravel bed (assuming min acceptable soil standards exist)
Exterior wall framing. 2x6x10 DougFir stud/plates studs @ 16"oc
Exterior sheithing......1/2" OSB w/ 1" Stucco
Insulation Rockwool or Fiberglass batt R-38
Roof framing ... Standard Sissor truss @ 16" o.c. Ext. pitch 5/12 int pitch
3/12(note attic to be vented, roof not part of 2 leaf STL system
Interior control room sheithing...2 layers 5/8"drywall on Resiliant channel(fastened to ext. framing except for iso wall @cr/studio(double wall w/ same drywall schedule
Control room floor synomonous w/ slab)
Control Room ceiling 1st leaf (2 layer drywall on underside of truss w suspended 2nd leaf via Risc isolators and Hatchannel w/ 2layers 5/8" drywall (4 layers of drywall MUST be in truss calc's)
Studio ceiling .. 1st leaf 2 layers 5/8" drywall on underside of truss-
2nd leaf ..2 layers 5/8" drywall on 2x10(see structural span code) ceiling
joists supported by wall framing on floated floor.
Studio walls. 2x4 framed on floating floor w 9" airgap from interior sheithing to exterior sheithing. Interior shieth w/ 2 layers 5/8" drywall. R-19 batt type insulation @ wall cavities.
Doors/jambs....(2)1 3/4" Solidcore ext drs w/ vesibule airlock Provide seals/thresholds and custom Jambs @ RC walls w/ floating trim.
Interior ..Double sliding glass w/ special flush floor channels, smoke seals and 1/4" glass w/ angled airgap min 8" at short end. Trim and baseboards TBD by room construction and iso connection requirements.
HVAC..double duty plenum w/exterior compressor(spec'd by professional)
serpentine flex ducting, with decoupled brackets, grills, registers etc.
Interior Acoustics..prior design integral w/ room designs..(ha!) ie..lots of
OC 703 or Rockwool panels w/ deep bass traps into ceilings.
Attic insulation...full roof framing cavity R-38, 18" blow in or batt type at
cieling, and R-19 @ airgaps
Roof shiething..5/8 OSB w/ high profile comp 25 yr roof over 30yr felt.
Gutters, eaves, venting, etc as per preference.
Electrical plan as per requirement and code PERIOD!!
Note, all construction connections, materials spans etc must be approved
by local permit issuing authority.


Well, as you can see, this BARELY scratches the surface of specifying things from a distance. In reality, it would be rediculous for anyone here to ACTUALLY try to do it as they would be putting themself in a precarious position as it is not within the scope of a forum such as this to do so. i have no building code here, i'm in valley head A.L and live in the country.
but i'm clost to fort panye A.L
and no i have not check the ground but right in the back yard were i live my bother built his big work shop and it stands real good.
my father owns the house and the land i'm liveing at.
my bothers seals just plan wood i could use it for the framing right?
i need good stuff but i dont have that much money yet. but i'm saving.
i know it's going to be a lot of money.
does this tell you anything?

Bull. Building codes are in every county of the nation. You're just not aware of it. Regardless whether your relatives built without permits, you are STILL required to obtain them from your county building inspection dept. If you do not, and get caught, they MAY require you to tear it down AND fine you to boot.

Seals plan wood? I don't know what plan wood is? Let alone what you mean by "seals". Sealant comes in various products and types. If you mean pressure treated, it would depend on where its used. If it means "primed", again, it would depend.

In all the time i've been browsing this site, i've only seen the use of a mobile home suggested as a studio by one other person.
