Newb to Cubase
I just purchased a Tascam US-428 and it comes with Cubasis and I'm an Acid user and I want to be able to use it to import loops into Cubase and I understand it is possible. Any help for a newb on getting started with Cubase will be great.
Thanks, Bill |

Gee, that would take a book.
In fact, there's a bunch of them at your local bookstore.... |

Any suggestions on a book that would be the easiest to use?

Good basic book for home recording and setting up a home studio (a must!):
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...s&n=507846 Good book on Cubase: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...576295-9503135 or http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...576295-9503135 Most Borders or Barnes&Nobles have the Cubase books. Go grab a cuppa coffee and flip through them in the cafe. But get the Home Recording book above; you'll save a LOT of time, frustration and money by learning the basics without trial-and-error.... |

If you mean that you want to import a completed song or loop pattern that was created in Acid then do the following
From Acid just select file, render as and select a file name and location to save it as a stereo wav file. In Cubase start a new project, set it to the same tempo as the acid mixdown then on a new audio track select file, import audio and select the wav file to import. If you mean that you want to use Acid loops within Cubase to create a song, then I'm not sure you can do that with the version of Cubase that is packaged with the Tascam. Only Cubase SX 3 is capable of doing that. Hope that helps. |

I bought a 224 and I had to upgrade the software almost right away, the bundled stuff will start to limit you very fast, of course I got cakewalk, but I'm switching back to Cubase when I get my mac for school

Cubase SX Ignite! and Cubase SX Power are both good for getting you up and running.
