question about ORTF microphone setup

Are the mics pointed down, over the cymbals you wish to record (more vertical)...or....mics pointed out, toward the cymbals you wish to record (more horizontal). Can anyone take a nice picture of an ORTF setup with a drumset in the shot?

Thanks!

Without really thinking about it, I guess I've gravitated to something between a spaced pair and a slightly wide ORTF for my cymbal pair. But the placement is for purely practical reasons, mostly to have a wider-than-the-kit option that tries to minimize the snare some.
But I would expect that you would tend to initially just aim them at the target the same as with XY. But 'looking down at the cymbals might be just as valid as having them more horizontal and looking from out in front of the kit?

The imaginary center line is aimed at whatever you want to have at the center of the stereo image.
