Lightbulb Distorted guitar room

I am going to use the set up as follows to record distorted guitars.

Marshall DSL50 tube amp with 1960 4x12 cab.
Two Rode NT2 mics close miced on different speakers.
Really nice Neumann mic placed a few feet away.

I am going to sound chech each NT2 seperately to get two different tones i like then ensure no phasing is happening. Then sound check the far Neumann mic on its own to get the right amount of air desired. Once i am happy with the sound from the mics i will record the guitar then nudge the Neumann mics wave so it matches up with the two NT2 mics so as no phase cancelation happens. WHat i hope to acheive is a full on guitar sound with desired tone and that well desired air.

What i would like to know is what is the best conditions for the room i will be recording the guitar in, in this fashion.
I have a few posibilities.
1) Small booth. which i could deaden the room with foam wall boxes.
2) Large studio room
both are sound proofed to a decent degree.

If anyone could let me know from experience which would work best i would be greatfull. I am vergin on the large room idea and making sure that the amp is really cranked up so the far mic gets a good full signal.

Cheers.

For the love of all that is good and decent ... don't use a Rodent on a distorted amp.

And I think most would prefer to track in the larger room. Unless it sounds like crap ... then record in the other one. If both sound like crap, then ditch distant mic thing and just stick a 57 on the grille and crank it.

I agree with Chessrock. Large room, different mics.

Whats wrong with NT2s? They are great mics. Very nice frequency response, and with the bass pad and the springy holder bit I thought i would get a really nice clear signal, no?
And what is wrong with far micing? I dont want the guitars to sound too in your face. Im going for the deftones sound in the sense of air and space.
Anyone know the deftones setup?
