In my quest to find the right hard disk recorder, I had been looking closely at the Tascam MX-2424 and the Alesis ADAT HD24.
Last night I came upon a great deal on the Mackie HDR-2496 . I picked up a demo unit for $1999 about half off from retail price. I have a 45 day return window and the full manufactures warranty. I'm still not sure about my choice. I have never used the MX-2424 or Mackie HDR 2496. I was leaning more towards the Tascam unit, but had to jump on this deal. I can still return this if I'm not happy. Any Tascam Mx-2424 user input is gratly appreciated. Thanks!! Flegz ![]() |

I'm VERY happy with my MDR24. The people who have the trouble with the HDRs all seem to be using the digital cards. I have the analogue I/Os and they have been flawless for three years now. Never a reboot, never a lost track, and great sound. The HDR people who use the analogue I/O cards all seem to report the same results. The digital cards seem pretty unreliable.
(Now where did that go?) Dave. |
