cassette deck as effect
We often talk about the warmth of magnetic tape. I have read of engineers that run their decks at 15 ips to get a more "analog" sound presumably.
What about running some tracks through a decent cassette deck (with relatively little wow and flutter) at 1 7/8 ips to really get some tape mojo going? I haven't tried it, it is easier to post idle questions and see if anyone else has.

i tried this through my Tascam 424MKII and i have to say it didnt really add anything to the sound just kinda made it a bit muffled. Maybe a better quality unit would produce better results i dont know. But this is my experience.

See if you can get your hands on an old 1/4" 15 isp half track.
