4-Track Recorders...

Hey,

I have been planning to purchase an 8-track digital recording studio (accessories and all) with my income tax refund. Unfortunately, I am in the process of moving and will need the extra money to furnish an apartment. So, at this time, I can't purchase an 8-track, which leads to my next question.

Out of all of the 4-track digital recorders out there, which one do you guys think is the best?

One of the reasons I wanted to purchase an 8-track was because of the bass simulator and drum machine, and the ability to export the tracks to wav format.

If I could find a 4-track with those capabilities, I would be fine and would probably never purchase an 8-track because all I really want to do is add bass lines, drum tracks, and electric guitars to make my demos sound a little more complete.

I really want to get my demos down and at least have decent sound quality (I am currently using a cheap computer microphone to record my stuff; a lot of background noise).

If anyone has any recommendations or has a 4-track that has what I'm looking for, please let me know.

Thanks,

uh huh him

Love & Light is on a distinguished road
A Zoom PS-04 digital 4 track has a drum machine and programmable bass built in. You can also bounce tracks which means it's not just a 4 track.

I just looked that one up. Seems a bit small. Maybe something a little bit bigger. Does anyone have any other recommendations?

How about the Tascam 564

Or the Yamaha MD4
