What does it take to get yall to answer questions?
Is there some kind of invisible indicator that you all should ignore some people on the BBS and not others? I am very confused. It seems that you have to be either a Professional with alot of experience or an idiot that hasn't the slightest idea as to how much money is required for this hobby or what they can possibly expect results-wise. This forum experience has been very interesting. When I first came, everyone was very helpful. Then everything fell to the bottom. Why are there 150+ views on my post, but no replies. Smartass 'know it all' replies are better and far more entertaining than nothing at all.

A friendly bump always worked for me.
Also making sure to research before asking helps. Good old interesting questions help. Persistance....

Foo-foo, gear lust, 'I like such'n such' opinions are easier and get more traffic. But sometimes when you need specific help it can seem like you're talking to the wall.
Also big long in-depth initial posts whether well thought out or not, can get past by- don't fit well in the quick-fix mode. So be it. Mostly it's just human nature. Mostly.

Just like with anything else in life ...
No one owes you any answers. If you don't know how to read an instruction manual ... or how to contact technical support for the products you buy, then perhaps this isn't the kind of thing you should be getting in to. |

Patience is a virtue.
took me a few minutes to realize that the post you were refereing to was only a day old. Hardly worth complaining about no replies at this point.

"Behringer"....turns alot of people off. Even owners like myself. But monitoring questions are relevant. I think your question was answered in your post. Just maybe not to the extent that you would have wished. that happens...alot. But, don't fly off on us for a day-old-post. If you weren't satisfied with your answer, rephrase the question. "Bumping" your post up a day also helps. It lets people know you still got questions about what it is your were inquiring about. Don't get mad, don't give up looking for an answer, and keep experimenting. the answers will come. Just maybe not as fast as you would like. Now go, and may you live long and prosper. ![]()

Thanks alot. I appreciate that. Oh, and as far as the 'yall' comment, that humored me a little. However, the explanation is that I am from the south. I forgot that all talented musicians, etc were all limited to regions where 'yall' isn't not used in the language. I appreciate the comments (excluding the response from chessrock, you are a real dick, but your tunes sound very nicely recorded and you have alot of talent. I'm sure you gained all of your knowledge over your 16 years of recording through manuals and technical support and you had absolutely nobody to help you through it. With your 8,000 posts in 3 years + I guess you talked about the weather a few times a day. Thanks for assuring me that the tension in the community was not only a figment of my imagination but a behavior that you embody so well.)

...You forgot a period (.) after the last parenthesis of the sentence that begins with "I appreciate the comments...," as there should be a period at the end of that to cap it off. Otherwise, you leave us all in suspense waiting for the climatic ending to such a grand diatribe!! Additionally, there are other grammatical errors present within the parentheses which are sure to evoke the ire of my fellow forum-ites! However, the content of your message contained in the parenthesis is well within what is considered "normal" around here. -mr moon

Your original post with the question about monitoring has gotten a response. Sometimes it is a matter of being patient.
It also doesn't help to be calling people dicks, and being confrontational, or acting like you have a chip on your shoulder. For example, I didn't know you were from the south until you mentioned it, and frankly I know some absolutely incredible musicians from the south. So you are making some assumptions/accusations about the rest of us that are not true. The other factor that I don't think you are taking into consideration is that there is probably a limited number of people that use the exact gear configuration that you are asking about. I don't, for example. So I don't feel qualified to answer your question. That said, my approach to your monitoring problem would be a little different. The 896 has a heaphone output, right? What I would do is take the headphone output of the 896 into the input of the Behringer headphone amp, and leave the outs of the 896 alone. Then use the outs of the 896 direct to your monitors as I guess you have been doing in the past. I'd be very hesitant to route my entire monitor signal through the Behringer, or actually any additional piece of gear. You want to keep that as simple and pure a signal path as possible, since all your mix decisions are based on what you hear. |

I appreciate the nice comments about my work. I really do, because I have, in fact, worked my ass off and scoured not only the internet for information ... but product manuals, books, and everything else. No one has ever owed me anything. Especially quick answers to technical problems. This isn't a technical support line ... it's a community of audio recording enthusiasts like yourself. What have you ever contributed to this community in order to deserve for us all to drop whatever we're doing and solve your problems for you? "RED ALERT ! ! RED ALERT ! EVERYONE ! 'Yall guy's got a question! Quick! Hurry! Someone find 'yall that answer, Pronto! I don't see you moving fast enough. Move it. Who's got 'yall's answer, Goddamnit?! Someone!" |
