Need sonar synth help

I have sonar...and i want to know how to utilize the synths that come with the program...do i need a controller

A controller or a keyboard with midi out could be fine

You could long hand it by entering in the Staff View then apply synth to it or, you could import midi files already completed but if you're wanting to sit down and play/record, you'll need a midi keyboard.
