Recording in a Garage?

Hey,

Is it safe to turn a small 2 car garage into a studio? Will the equipment get damaged? (coldness, dampness, etc.)

What can I do turn the garage into a studio? Can I insulate it? If insulated will it require heat?

A lot of people have been turning their garage into a studio. You will have to insulate it, no doubt.
But your main concern should be the noise, both coming in and going out of your studio.

Do lots of reading before you start. It's not something that you can just build. You have to know what you are getting into.

No, but I have a couple associates who did. They liked it. I never got to go into their studio, but that shit is expensive....

yes, you will have to heat it and control the humidity especially in summer. Excess humidity will RUIN you equipment. I heat my small garage-end studio with a oil-filled electric heater and use a portable de-humidifier to control humidity.
