Question for the PROS (or whoever knows the answer)

Hi,
I'm conducting some personal research on mixdown solutions.

The Aurora Audio GTM-822 is an 8 channel line level mixer w/ some nice features and optional fader pack. Imagine you've expanded to 24 channels with faders. It is said that this unit can be automated.

Here's my question. What system would be used to automate such a thing? Martinsound only installs their system in consoles for 3 to 7 times the cost of the hardware mentioned. And Uptown automation systems are exclusive to Legacy consoles. What's left? I can't find any information on this. HELP.
