Power conditioning question???

OK. Tax-time is here, and I'm thinking of adding on too or upgrading my power conditioners (Using Furmans now, which have treated me good so far). I've been looking at the Monster Power Pro 7000 Powercenter http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PRO7000/ , because I have a LOT of old Analog gear (Mostly Keyboards). They advertise it as being beneficial to the sound of analog gear. Has anyone used these and found this to be true, or should I just add-on another Furman. Sound quality is my only concern here!!! It's not an issue of money or circuit protection.

TexRoadkill pointed me towards these, and you can find them on e-bay sometimes. Apparently very effective. They have a line called Topaz power conditioners for industrial/medical use.

Thanks for the link boingoman!!! That is some serious equipment. I'm almost scared to see the pricing though.

They go for pretty reasonable prices on e-bay.
Here is one, 8.5 Amps max draw.

Cool. I was talking about the price on those great big 800 series. I might need 2 extra jobs just to afford one of those.

Atterion- I was just looking at the Furmans today, and was curious which one(s) you've used, and which you'd recommend. I read a review that some were just over-hyped powerstrips (like you buy @ Satanmart)...

Do they really make a noticable difference?

PS Pro Series II (x2). You're probably refering to the PlugLock powerstrips (which a lot of people I guess mistake for protection because it has an overload circuit). I use PlugLocks, but they are plugged into the PS Pro's. I really like the PS Pro's. I put a test meter on them when I first got them to verify they do there job. They are consistent. I put one on an outlet equiped with a voltage dimmer, and it provided consistent power until I got to just below 95v (They'll probably go lower for regular line drops, but this was a sustained test). The best thing about them is they have delays for the outlets (so everything can be plugged in even amps and speakers. My synths start first, then my fx, then my mixer, and speakers last. No more woofers jumping out of the speakers!!! Yay!!!).

The PS pro series is well outside of my financial range at this point in time. Would there be any reason to invest $100-150 in a power conditioner?
This is probably the reason I've seen them referred to as glorifed power strips...

I would imagine there would have to be something decent in that price range. Something that will at least provide you line protection (You probably won't get something with good filters, or delay start). Furman and Alesis both make cheap units (and I think the Alesis has RFI suppression). Not sure how good any of these work though.

I don't think you'll actually get power conditioning for $100-150. Just the usual power strip stuff like EMI filtering and surge/spike protection.

For that I use Tripplite rack mount power strips, the Isobar units. The model I use has ten outlets on the back and two on the front. They are not conditioners though. I also use an Equitek balanced power unit in my studio, which I do find makes a bit of a difference.

Is THIS worth $100?

Or would THIS Be a better buy?

I've never heard much good about Alesis..

After I get my DMP3, $100 is about what I'll have left plus or minus $50...

Thanks.

Hey bro... are you good at repairing stuff? I'm not sure but I might have an old Furman that needs repairs I could GIVE you. PM me and let me know, because I'll have to look for it... which could take a little time. Don
