mic filter question

whats that Round circle Filter like thing infront of mics like in studios and stuff is that like a filter to stop the mic from picking up breath sounds like inhale or exhale sounds .......????

Yeah, more or less. Mainly for cutting down on plosives - hard, popping consonant sounds - on vocals. Often called a pop screen or pop filter.

It won't alter any sounds - you'll still hear breathing and lip-smacking sounds and the like. It's to keep that puff of air from banging against the mic element when the singer says P, B, T, D, K, and G, which produces unwanted noise.
