Looking forward to being able to load up the memory banks and not have things skip, sputter or stop all together. I wish however, they would focus getting a decent beat detector and audio editor pop up in the program. That is the final frontier with being able to put Pro Tools to death.

But actualy, I agree with Ron Kuper (Cakewalk Vice President), I think what we need next is a way to make the tool seem almost invisible, so the user can go from idea to realization with minimal effort or friction. ![]() Jaymz

the best way they could do that to me is to have the track armed at startup. that way all you have to do is double click the program, click new project and then press R

Yeah, when you create a new track (I have mine set up for F7, press it and bam) you chould have the option of having it record enabled, and a default input. You may be able to set a default input, but I havent figured it out yet. Sure would make things easier. Mine goes straight to 1/2 stereo, and 99% of the time I need 1L, mono, so I gotta change it all around while people sit there and wait. Sucks.
64 bit systems will be nice.

What's the most ram you can load on an existing consumer mobo right now? Would you need a fan just for your RAM? Man it's like starting all over again. Quote:

with xp64 would all of the hardware drivers need to be upgraded? that would be a huge pain.
64 bit soundcard drivers may be cool though
