Rode NT1000 or Akg C3000??

Hi,

I have a NT1000, mainly I use it for Vocals, but I need 2 overheads. I think to buy other NT1000 or 2 Akg C3000. Which option its better??

Or some others better options??

Thanks!!

How about a pair of Rode NT5s. AMS has a pair for $349.00 right now.

ya there supposed to be pretty good bang for the buck mikes, if you have a really nice large condencer then a second one might be a good idea.

For overheads, I would not get another one of either of these mics. You'll be better off with a pair of SDCs - NT5, Oktava MK012, etc..

I've got 2 pairs of Rode NT5's and love them... I've heard mixed feedback about them from different sources, but for my money, they are great!
I find them to be excellent on acoustic guitar...

I never record acoustic guitar, but I suspect that the qualities that make a good acoustic guitar mic would not make a good overhead mic. The detail in the guitar is probably the harshness in a cymbal. I think that's why I keep hearing the same things about NT5's and MC0012's. I use the Oktavas for overheads and they are awesome. I've heard the NT5's on drums and thought they were too bright. Just my $.02.
