Lightbulb TASCAM 2488 vs YAMAHA AW16

would appreciate any inputs?

thinking of upgrading soon:

Yamaha AW16/CDR ~$1000 ($400 on ebay?)
or
Tascam 2488/CDR ~$1100 (none on ebay)
or
DP01 + Masterlink ~$1100 (same as new)

and monitors...probably Whaf 8.2 or KRKRP8.

Home recording mostly. musician songwriter.
Guitars, Vox, Bass, Drum's.
SP B1/ DMP3/ RNC/ MC300 outboard.

Cant say that I have worked directly w/ any of these products. But I can vouch for Tascams stand alone units. Have had numerous portastudios over the years, then their breakthru MD machine, and eventually a 788. If the 2488 is anything like the 788, it will have great sound and be very intuitive. Also great customer spt. and a great user forum.

Hope this helps!

Cool

Thanks i knda posted this before going to the correct thread.

alot of comparisons and data i sifted thru for hrs. last night

2488 has 24 bit
but the Yammie has better effects
DP01 is user friendly for musician/guitarist types
but ebay has the AW16G for $400-$500 used....

KORG are listed as user firendly.

anyway I got another week or so before the $hip comes in.
