How And Where To Get Demo Reviews?

Some reviews of our demo might look good (assuming they were favorable), for our press kit.

How do we get these?

Many a true word spoken in jest. Journalists are lazy adn many don't bother to check the information in a press handout, just reproducing it verbatim. So if you were to state that your CD had got rave reviews in X, Y, and Z fanzines and webzines you'd probably get away with it, get reviewed because the journalist/reviewer doesn't weant to miss out on what others have already raved about, pull your CD out of the pile, and hey presto you start to get 'real' reviews to replace the fake ones.

I'm not advocating this, but I'm sure it will have been done in the past, and much worse!

No problem Robert, hope it's useful to you.

I can't vouch for them, they are just places that have reviewed other people's stuff. I have accumulated them over the past 12 months or so. What i do is go on other artists web sites, check out their reviews section and follow any links back to the webzine or whatever, then bookmark the reviews page. it's amazing how many sources of reviews there are out there, it seems i come across a new one every week!

I'll be sending out my album in the next few months, trouble is it will most likely take weeks if not months to start getting reviews back as mine will be in the bottom of the pile.
