Drum Tracks - Need help processing/mixing

Hi All,

As mentioned in my other posts, I am a hobbyist, and like creating backing tracks for guitar playing.

I recently acquired DFHs which I am using for the drums in downloaded MIDI backing files. They sound really great, but I have almost no clue on how to process/mix them properly to obtain that 'final drum track' sound. I have visited a few websites which talk about EQ settings etc, and am still experimenting. I have managed to get away from that 'dry' mic'ed sound, but the EQ/panning is doing my head in. I am after a traditional rock/punk rock type sound.

What I was thinking was to post a short bounce of the drums on my FTP site in Cakewalk Bundle format which anyone willing to process and repost would be welcome to do. The files would be WAV and raw out of DFHs (track for each mic without any effects) Would anyone be interested in doing this?

Please note I am not after 'Please mix my files for me', but having the CWB file with effects added would give me an idea of the process. I also understand users may have different effects plugins, so a CWB files may not be ideal in some cases - maybe just a final MP3 then?

If you are not interested, please do not flame. Alternately, if you have any suggestions, please feel free to mention them.

Hopefully someone out there has some time on there hands

Cheers,
D

I would be happy to help you with this. As long as the raw files will translate over into a Pro Tools session, we are in good shape. We'll see if you like what I come up with. Let me know your FTP site.

Also, feel free to email me: band@halftheworld.cc

Thanks,
Pete

Hi pweaver,

Thanks for the offer - what are the requirements for Pro Tools?
