*Groan* more problems

I changed the Delta 1010lt jumpers to line level for inputs one and two, as I want to run a 1/4" to XLR cable to them from my mixer. The cable I'm using I got for free a year or two ago from the guy who sold me my board, it looks homemade and has 3 XLR (Neutrik) to 1/4" cables...and I know it works. Anyways, I can't get my program to pick up anything from these inputs and I know everything is set up correctly. Sorry for being so vague but I'm hurrying this, help!

Put the jumpers back and see if anything happens. If it does, the jumpers were done wrong.

Well we put them back and I dunno I think we're doing something wrong. When it comes to opening up the guts of a computer my dad tends to be a bit more savvy so at least he knows what he's doing. If only I had another XLR to 1/4" I could test...
