Mic/Pre/Rack Gear Help.

Hi,

IM IN UK AND DOING AND GETING ALOT OF NEW STUFF COS MY STUFFS SHIT PLEASE HELP ME. THERES ALOT BELOW BUT I NEED OTHERS ADVICE

This is my setup :

Mic > Multicore > Preamps > (Rack Gear) > Delta1010 > Headphone Amp

Part 1 : Rack Gear To Use with above setup.

Im wanting to add to my rackgear as all i really have is some reverb effects like (Lexicon MPX---) but i want to do all the eq'in and the compression/gating on computer (good / bad idea?) What else do you reccommend i look into?

Part 2 :

Basically...

Im looking for a 8 channel preamp to record drums..

Behringer ada8000 - Been told Alright / Shit from different people..

M audio Octane - BEtter But not good for money ?

Noisedude said :

I would be looking at a Soundcraft M8, eight decent pres with direct outs plus a decent EQ section. The other box I'd want to look at would be the Studio Projects SP828.

Which ABRAF seconded.

I need 8 direct outputs.. does the studio projects have that and what do others think of it or do you think theres better for me?

But some say id be best with a mixer and some say pre.. what would give me the best drum sounds? pre or mixer? id just be as easy to listen and eq the recording on the computer i think?

Part 3 : Vocal / Guitar / Bass / Other things like strings pre.

Im also looking for a 2 channel pre amp for the above.. around about $500 and under what do you think? RNP?

Part 4 : Vocal Mic / Room Mic

I'm Looking for a new vocal mic/room mic for recording various bands.. what do you think looking at £150gbp or something.. ??

whats your opinions on : http://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=143267

Thanks.
Mark
