Question Audacity question

So I'm trying to mix down from my tascam 424 onto this computer program and I can't seem to get the playback in stereo. I think I'm doing everything right, but I'm not sure. I was told it could be the RCA connectors I have aren't in stereo.

Does anyone else familiar with this program have any suggestions or, if not, other ways to mix down onto my comp?

Thanks in advance to everyone's responses.

Question

It's really hard to say since we don't know what soundcard you're using for the transfer and how you have them wired up. A RCA jack (other than digital) is only going to handle one channel at a time. Unless your soundcard has a left/right input you're only sending a mono signal to it. Again, it's hard to say since we don't know the particulars.

Hey, not sure if this will help you or not:

There's a setting in audacity that will convert everything to mono,
go to file, prefences, under recording click the channel drop down and select 2(stereo)
Hope it's something simple like that!
