Just bought one fairly cheap, want to use it for fill when recording and wish to play around learning more about synths....new to this so I guess I wish to know is this a bad starting choice, any words of advice and anything to check out with it specific, any help and or comments would be great!

Roland makes good stuff - especially keyboards. Looks like a fine choice --- and I would advise you to leave the bass boost off when the kids are asleep.
