VS-1680 to Pro Tools

How to I export data from my VS1680 into Pro Tools so I can do a remix? Is there a way to do this? Thanks.

I've done this in a low-tech but very effective way. Two tracks at a time with a VS-880 to Pro-Tools and to Sonar. I assume the 1680 has no ADAT/Lightpipe connection. That would help,I guess.

www.vsplanet.com has a lot of this kind of help. If you don't have any luck, I'll explain my two-track technique and how to synch tracks.

VS1680 to Pro Tools again

I'm not sure what version of Pro Tools, it's at a pro recording studio so I guess it's probably the latest professional version. The 1680 does have optical and digital out, but I can't figure out how to export all 16 tracks in sync. Is there a way to save tracks as .wav files?

As I said, I've seen this on VS-Planet. It may involve removing the VS hard drive, but I know I've read about success there. If you can do the ADAT thing, I know Pro-Tools has an ADAT bridge, especially in the pro studios. Dump 8 tracks at a time. Synch it this way:

At the end or beginning of one of your VS tracks, some place where there is silence, obviously (let's say track 1), record a click.
Copy that click to track 9 in the exact same place in the song. Do this with the VS before you go to the studio. When your Pro-Tools guy is done importing, he can slide tracks 9-16 to line up with 1-8 by zooming in on the peak of the click that you recorded. All he needs to do is match up the peak of the click from track 1 with the peak of the click on track 9, as 1-8 should come in together as should 9-16.

This is what I did. If you don't understand, I can try to post a pic, but your studio guy should get this. It works.
