Question Studio Projects B1

I just bought 2 studio projects B1 microphones, yesterday i used them as overheads to track some drums. One thing i noticed is that these mics are very hot mics(loud). i record into an aardvark audio direct pro q10. And i had to turn the mic pre all the way down as low as it would go to get it to not clip while recording, and that was with the B1's 6 feet back from the drums. Is there any cheap way to fix this problem until i can get more money to get an external mic pre or something so i could turn it down even more?

Dont the B-1s have a pad switch on them?

you may have to buy some 10 or 20db in line pads, they should probably cost around $10-15usd.... i was thinking the other day about just buying one of these behri mic100 for not much more just for the 20db pad, but i'm pretty sceptical of the pre itself, I suppose you do get a free 12ax7, and you can't have too many of those lying around
