Kona????

I just got a new accoustic guitar for christmas. It's a Kona K1. All my life i've been playing on electric, so I know nothing about accoustic. To take it a step further, my mother (the one that got it for me), knows even LESS about guitars.

The body is rather basic, and the sound is suprisingly really, really good. I wish the action was a bit better, but i've allready talked to the music shop, and they said they might be able to hook me up. Which, by the way, the music shop didn't sell it to her.... she got it at a pawn shop. =)

So i got online to find any information at all. But there has been extremly few reviews out there.... at least any that i would deem a worthy.

So does anyone else have a Kona? Do you like it or hate it? Just fishing for some opinions here.

By the way... in case you ever want to look for a really affordable accoustic.... these Kona's are VERY inexpensive, compared to the good sound quality. They are definatly worth at least a minute of your time if you happen to see one in the music store.

Thanks man... i couldn't find anything on these, until you're link.

I feel just about the same about this guitar as that guy felt about his. He's right tho.. the action could use some work, but thats about it. Hopefully it won't cost that much.

I really don't think it's possible to find a better sounding guitar for that kind of cash... i'm serious. This thing sounds beautiful.

On the other hand... like i said, I don't know much about accoustic, but I have played on a couple of real cheapies, for fun, in my time. And i'd definatly say that this doesn't sound like a 'cheap' guitar.

Kona builds a lot of low-cost stuff. I have one of their small practice bass combos. They are not great, but better than most of the generic Rogue/Brownsville/Drive etc. crowd.

I hope the guitar works out. I've found some great sounding instruments from knock-off manufacturers. It's basically a luck of the draw sort of thing.

Cheers,

d...
