Startouch pedals
These are the best inexpensive switcher pedals...right?...without spending $200.
I've read nothing but bad news about the Morley, Art, Boss switcher pedals, ..from racking the sound, to hums, to clicks when switching, to loss in volume, etc. http://www.startouchpedals.com/home.html Last edited by mixmkr; 12-27-2004 at 07:33.. |

Well, I haven't used many channel switchers, but if you search around Fulltone's website (www.fulltone.com) they have a schimatic with all the pieces and part numbers you need to build one. About $30 total.
As for this company, I haven't heard of them before, but allow me to give you my optinion based on the fact I work in advertising. ![]() Bare with me... The picture of that pedal was taken in a bedroom no doubt. You can see reflections all over the thing of what looks like a blanket they tried to cover the window with. From an advertising standpoint, when a company doesn't care enough to get a proper photo taken (and all that involves now-a-days is hanging blankets over the problem spot, but they didn't even bother to cover the whole window and then take another photo) then the company usually doesn't give a fuck about detail. Which in this case detail is a major issue because the product is all about attention to detail and making sure it is built perfect so it sounds perfect - or doesn't sound at all and is transparent. What about making sure all the connections are soldered properly? -But as I just said...I don't think they care.

my only problem with Fulltone is the owner is pretty much a jerk, and I don't really want to do business with them.
Interesting advertising opinions, however. Taken into consideration. |

Huh....interesting. My only experience with Fulltone was good. I emailed him that Mouser Electronics (the place the part numbers are for) was no longer stocking the rubber rings that hold the LEDs, and he sent me two in the mail for free...granted I bought the footswitch from him...but still...anyways... I still haven't gotten around to building the thing yet. lol 6 months and counting I think. But I think I will now that I think about it. (about the rings) A little rubber cement would probably do the trick too.
