New MXL 900-series mics
Has anyone had a chance to try these new MXL's out yet? Specifically, the 909, 990, 992, and most importantly the 960 (tube).
I just did a shootout at the local store on my singer's voice between a Shure KSM32, MXL V67, Blue Bluebird (sucked the most!), CAD VSM-1, Apex 460, and MXL V69. The V69 was by far the best for his voice out of these, so I'm looking for something with the same character. I've heard that the 960 is similar to the V69 except a little "smoother" sounding so I was wondering if anyone has had a chance to use these puppies yet. |
