Thank you Autotune...

Just finished a session today. The singer, and I use the term loosely, could not hold a note to save his life. When he wasn't singing off key he was screaming to kind of blend the mistakes together in a jumbled collage of male primal expression.

Things were not going well and the other band members were stressing out. I patched in the ATR-1 and aaahhhhh, near perfect results, at least something that would work.

Thank you Autotune for shorting the session, and lowering the stress levels of people who have to listen to people who can't sing.

I used it with great success the other day as well. Got perfect harmony with a background vocal part. One interesting thing though, everytime I reopened the project after having closed it, the autotune parts were horribly, horribly out of tune. For some reason every time I reopened the project I had to reset autotune. Pretty funny the first time we heard it. Sounded like that Cher song.

I am definitely a fan of AutoTune, too. I can't tell you how many times it has fixed clients who were somewhat less than "perfect"...

I am now a fan of it, at least in a sense.

The other day I was playing pool at Dave & Busters, and a music video of Christina Aguilera and Brian McKnight singing some Christmas song came on one of the TVs. Ms. Aguilera was just putting forth a horrid performance, but Mr. McKnight seemed to have some trouble hitting some high notes, which was funny enough, and then he squeeked immediately after that. It was really only funny because the crowd cheered after every part he sang, including that one.

Of course, that wasn't really all that funny. It was mostly sickening.

My brother was with me, and he noticed it, laughed, and then made some comment about what a horrible singer he is. I said they must have forgotten to turn on his Autotune. After I thought about it for a second, I actually would have preferred that they did. It would have saved me from feeling embarassed for the guy and all those people and from having to ever hear that crap in the first place.

I saw then why people like Autotune so much. The tards who like those other tards that can't sing for being "talented singers" can't even tell when they screw up, so it is just easier if the rest of us aren't forced to endure the pain inflicted upon our little ears.
