My Wharfedale Active Diamond Pro 8.2 arrived today

Problem is Music 123 sent the 8.1 not the 8.2 Argh

So my question is this, is there a huge difference between these 2. It's gonna take 2 more weeks to exchange to the 8.2 if I go that route.

TIA
Gabriel

yes!

the wharfies already have weak bass response, you need everthing you can get.

Although I "somewhat" disagree on the bass response (I think the lows in the 8.2's are pretty amazing), I hate to say that it's probably worth the two week wait.

Hoox81 is on a distinguished road
I bought the 8.1a's from Deepwater because my "studio" didn't have the room necessary for the 8.2s (and, yes, I do realize it's only a few cubic inches difference).

I'm quite amazed at the clarity I'm getting with these. I can see where the bass response wouldn't be that great for an open room, but for my alcove it's just right.

The BIG question is... do you have to return the 8.1s right away or can you wait until the new ones get there? If so, I'd love to hear what you perceive to be the difference.

Well the room I'm doing my recording in is 13' X13'. And they want the 8.1 back before they ship out the 8.2 even though it was their error. Mabe it's time to stop using these guys

Gabriel,

You said, "And they want the 8.1 back before they ship out the 8.2 even though it was their error. Mabe it's time to stop using these guys."

Damn skippy it's time to stop using them.

Get on the phone and explain to them that you'll send the wrong ones back when your new ones arrive. Tell them you are sitting ready to kick off a brand new CD project and were only waiting for your monitors to arrive. Now they're costing you 2 weeks of downtime and you need to be compensated with something credited back to your account. (ie: partial refund). Also ask them how you should explain this to your client from whom you've already received a substantial deposit. Tell them you arn't really are wanting to give them a bad name with your client but that you're being forced to (due to the 2 week downtime) if they don't make things right.

If that doesn't work, tell them you'll send the wrong ones (remember, their mistake!) and they can refund all your money (including your shipping on the original order) so you can buy them from a more reputable establishment. They ain't the only ones schlepping shit on the internet.

And then, if you've still got any breath left, tell 'em to go butt a stump!

At 52, I never back down until I get what I want from whomever. Eat them or they will eat you.

Best of luck!!!

Hi,

That's exactly how I feel. I'm planning on giving them a call tomorrow and speaking to their CS manager. If they fail to comply I will simply write a review in their reviews area, explain what happened and tell them I decided to buy it from Deepwater instead!!! Which is exactly what I will be doing

Well just a lil update here. I spoke to Music123 as planned, talk to a different CS rep and she arranged to send me out the right set free overnight shipping. Got them on Thursday and am blown away by the sound of these babys so far. Can't wait till they're broken in
