You've got a video connection to a tracking room? That is sweet. Really I think everybody should go that route, saves a lot of trouble in design.

If its one room, what is the video for?
Looks great though. I bet you have a lot of fun there. Do YOU play? What is the mixer on the desk?

It's probably not as sophisticated as it appears.
Tracking/recording is all done in this room. Since I have my back to the tracking, I have the video to watch what's going on behind me. This little setup is wired and was $50. However, you can get a wireless cam setup for $99 in case you have a separate tracking room. I have a large closet in this room which will become a nice iso booth sometime after the first of the year. I'll go wireless then. |

Yes, I play (mandolin for 3 years, pedal steel for 27 years).
The "mixer" is a Mackie Control Universal to handle SONAR. This is a working facility and I currently have 4 full-CD projects going on. *On edit - I only record acoustic projects, bluegrass, Celtic, folk, etc. so the one room setup works just fine for me. |

Pedal steel for 27 yrs? How cool. I LOVE pedal steel. I used to play in a country band with a steel player, fiddle(doubled on electric mandolin). I haven't followed country in long time though. Any new steel players that are hot? I still love to listen to Emmons though. His jazz stuff blew me away. What a fat tone. Anyway, I like your setup. Very nice.hmmmmmm. Fort Worth huh. No wonder! OH.....pdlstl..I GET IT NOW fitZ

Very nice looking room. I am inspired by how professional it looks. I'm going to do a little remodeling after the holidays to try and make my room/garage more workable.
I think if my studio space was half as nice as yours I would spend more time out there. ![]()

PT User: Well, GC sells it for $499. I get a pro discount which got me down to $399, They loaded the wrong box in my truck and gave me an extra $70 off because I had to return it and get the correct one.
BTW, I wish I had the cherry but it wasn't even available when I bought mine. I think this is the best desk I've owned (and I've had several) as far as knock down studio furniture goes. The 8 sturdy casters makes it a breeze to pull out in order to make cabling changes! Also, I'm tax exempt. EdWonbass: Part of the deal is having a space which is comfortable and always setup and ready to go. You will find it's always easier to just fire everything up when the mood hits you. In my case, I don't get to record myself much but there's always mixing to do on client projects. |
