Fiberglass Question?

Does it matter what brand of fiberglass insulation I use for Ethan's paneling design? I'm having problems finding dealers that carrier OC fiberglass insul. So I'm just going to head out to the closest Menards store and look at everything there that they have. What would be ok to use for Ethan's paneling design? Would there be a problem using fiberboard vs. fiberglass? Please help out. I would like to get 40 panels made outside before it snows out.

Thanks a lot!

Look for Knauf ductboard. It's usually easier to find.

Sure would be - won't work with fiberboard.

You need a rigid fibrglass board in the 3pcf range.

John Mansville also makes duct board that's suitable - and if you call their headquarters they'll tell you how to find it.

Good luck,

Rod

Also Roxul mineral wool is available in various places.

As far as ductboard is concerned pay attention to the density (about 3 pcf is best) and unfaced products provide better broadband absorbtion than faced products.

In fact some sort of fiberglass or mineral wool is available just about everywhere, but you will have to look at the places where the contractors buy.
