Trollo

Not sure if I'll get attacked for asking this in here. Does anyone use the Mkey/Trollo VST's to control midi inside your sequencer? I am doing this for now until I get an external controller.

Huh??? Most sequencers control their own MIDI. Is this some sort of sequencer in the form of a VST effect for audio only applications? Not really sure what you meen. I gotta go do some research I guess.

Sorry for the confusion. Trollo is a program wherein you can use your keyboard (I'm talking about your computer keyboard) to trigger notes just like you would use a real keyboard (except with less functionality). MKey is a program you use alongside it to disable the keyboard shortcuts so you can actually play without disrupting the program. Here's a link:

Ohh I see now!!! It's a plugin that let's you use your QWERTY keyboard to play soft synths. AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh NO!!!
But short of having the real thing, that is a good idea.
When I built my first audio PC, while I was waiting for my MIDI interface to arrive I used something similar by AnalogX (they do good work, I still use their tap tempo program, and their Audio Arp plugin).

Atterion-

I wanted to use their Audio Arp program, but I could never get it to work. It's been a while so I don't exactly remember the problem. I think it just wouldn't do anything as I recall. Did you have any problems getting it to work initially?

Ted
PS- I was looking at your profile and noticed we share the same b-day, although I'm betting they're a few years apart.

Actually, I installed it on 4 different computers, and on 1 I did have a problem. It was a long time ago though, and don't remember what the exact problem was. But it is a pretty cool plugin. Back in the day, there was really nothing quite like it around. I'd say try getting it to work again (even check for updates, AnalogX still has a web page). I first used it after hearing a really fast chopped up vocal bit (Almost hard tremolo, but more extreme). I tried replicating the idea a bunch of different ways, and until I found this plugin the only good results I had, were made by chopping bits out of the wave file, or using volume automation (a whole lot of extra work compared to popping in the plugin, and adjusting the sliders to taste). Brilliant!!!!
