Question exporting my own modified samples 2 roland td 3 drum machine tho midi...

a post earlier said this could be done........but didnt explain wat software 2 use or how 2 use it, the problem is i am not totaly happy with the sounds on the td3 (not exactly made for metal) so i wanna use drum sounds that i have created and modified 2 come out of the drum machine when i hit a certain trigger. for example. hit trigger one on td3 and "poppy snare" from computer is heard, trigger 2 on td3 and "fat bass drum" from computer is heard, when it comes 2 midi and all things invloved i may as well curl up in a ball and shit my pants coz i am pretty much lost with it so if you guys could please explain 2 me how this is done it would be muchly appriciated, also can i export my own modified wave samples or is it only midi sounds, and if i have a wave sound can i transfer it 2 midi some way so i can play the dam thing thro my kit!!!..... thanx!

What you're probably thinking of here is using MIDI (which is data only, not sound) sent from the TD-3 to the computer, to trigger samples of drums in a software sampler such as Kontakt. In order for it to work properly, you need to have the TD-3 hooked up via MIDI to the computer, and know which MIDI note data each pad sends when pressed. Then assign your samples to those notes respectively in your Soft-Sampler, and set the hardware MIDI input in the soft-sampler to the MIDI port that the TD-3 is hooked up to (and to the channel it transmits on, which is usaully Channel 10 for drums but can be changed to whatever channel you want, both in the TD-3 and in software). That's it!!!
And remember with this set up, your not just limited to drum sounds. You could assign individual pads to trigger different sounds (i.e. Air-Raid Siren on pad 1, Scream sound on pad 2, etc.).

For midi basics, go here and here --- then you'll need sample-playback software to use with your PC. Let's take it one step at a time though.

Use the links above and maybe google 'midi basics' for yourself.
