Looking for a electronic drum set... checked out the prices on Roland, Hart, Pintech, Yamaha. On a budget, looking for a complete set.

Ive been all over the net and just purchased a set. The roland sets and the pintech with the mesh heads should figure into your bottom line. These play incredibly as you may know. Buy a pintech set, minimal size and a roland TF3. just under 300 bucks for the module, save for whatever size set goes along with it. If you buy anything complete for $500, there is no way youll be happy if you could have saved $500 more and had the latest sweet heads.
I found pintech to be the best bang for the buck. Just for fun, follow this Huge link; http://shop.drumbalaya.com/s.nl/sc.2...LOlQzNp65In0__ D

I went even cheaper, mostly because I'm a cheap prick
![]() I bought a complete set of Simmons pads (if you remember those ridiculous, octagon shaped things), and attached them to my existing Alesis DM4. I've since supplimented that kit with a ebay purchased Roland PM16 for $40, and a good friend of mine had an incomplete Simmons kit from way back when he was going to "toss". So I painted all the octogon parts the same color (black), and hooked everything to the PM16, and now I have a nearly complete set of midi drum triggers. For drummers like me, who really aren't drummers, I find this to be more than acceptable. My total investment was about $200... and is probably not a good solution for people who can actually play drums well. But since most of my midi-based recording is overlayed, I can record the kick and snare together, as I can play those together, then add other drums and fills after the fact since I don't have to think about the kick and snare anymore. Like I said, I'm not a drummer ![]() |
