Here is another annoying Sound card question

Here goes...
I use three adat machines and a mixer. I shoot the Adat files up to computer using "ADAT Connect". I mix in Vegas pro..my sound blaster is not cutting it....sooooo unprofessional! I am using W98ME because ADAT connect doesn't run with 2000. I would like to buy a sound card for monitoring. I know nothing about sound cards. Will it trans my wav. files to the computer from the ADAT? This way I will be able to get back to W2000...What sound cards would you suggest that I look into? I would like to not spend a huge amount on it. I have too much sunk in now...it will be difficult to convince my wife to spend much more

Depending on how much you can actually spend, look into emu (www.emu.com) or possibly maudio (www.m-audio.com). It sounds as if you only need ADAT and a stereo out... you should be able to find something reasonably priced out there to help you. Just make sure the card supports win2k... if not think about upgrading to XP.
