Cheap Sequencer for iBook

I am looking for a cheap sequencer for my G3 iBook. Its just to sketch out ideas.

I would like something that I can hook up a USB keyboard to and something that I can get some cheap VST instruments or the like.

Any thoughts?

Here's a whole list:

http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/mac/MULTITRACK_RECORDING/

Audacity is free...

Frankly, you should really look at CubaseSE. You can do 48 audio tracks and unlimited MIDI tracks. Really good program for $99.

Can't get much cheaper than this:

Tracktion FREE!

Audacity does not support VST plugins, but Tracktion does...

can't sequence with audacity.
no midi control, either.
dope-assed freebie for what it is, though.

ronan. for your apple check out band in a box for the mac.
(pgmusic.com)...youll be very surprised how quickly you can sketch out songs. heres some links as well to show its popularity with musicians or just use google. there are also loads of third party products for it, which should tell you its popularity. youll get a song idea sketched out faster than anything else ive seen.
heres some links...there is a web ring as well.
if you dont believe its good just talk to users.

I have band in the box. I love it, not so much for sketching out songs, but printing lead sheets for session players.

I down loaded Traktions which is a little funky, but may do what I need to do ( I want to sketch out string arrangements) and I realized that garageband may actually do what I need. Thanks for all the input.
